to be trimmed on the inside or removed to make clearance for the speaker.
For this installation the factory 18mm x 10mm speaker is mounted in the upper
rear under the decoder, as shown in in
Figure 3,
and BLMA fan details
have been added to the rear two fan details to increase sound levels.
Before mounting the speaker under the decoder some kapton tape must be
placed over the silver conductive disc on the speaker back, so this will not
short the frame halves when installed. The speaker can be slid under the
decoder until located as shown in
Figure 3.
You can optionally remove the
white tape from the speaker to stick the speaker in the correct position
against the decoder. Dress the speaker wires so they do not get in the way
of the shell and do not short to anything.

. (Optional) Functions for other lights etc., may connected to the pads identi-
fied in
Figure 4.
These function leads effectively switch the track voltage,
so LED’s and 1.5V lamps will need current setting resistors installed exter-
nally, as required.

. The included 100uF/25V electrolytic energy storage capacitor will fit inside
the frame and shell in the cab location shown in
Figure 3
. For other loco-
motives it may be possible to create space to accept this or another capaci-
tor elsewhere. Place kapton tape under the capacitor and make sure that the
capacitor case and leads
do not short to the frame, or damage to the
