3.4 Testing the Router Hardware

Plugging in the router power cord, or inserting the router into a powered-up DEChub
90 backplane, applies power directly to the router and causes the router to automati-
cally begin its self-test. The self-test consists of diagnostic routines that test and
verify the operation of the unit. Pass/fail test results are indicated by the router’s
LEDs.
