WARNING:
Never use solvents or other harsh
chemicals for cleaning the non-metallic parts of the appliance. These
chemicals may weaken the plastic materials used in these parts. Use a
cloth dampened only with water and mild soap. Never let any liquid get
inside the appliance; never immerse any part of the appliance into a liquid.

WARNING:
Shock hazard. Disconnect the charger
from the AC outlet before cleaning. Dirt and grease may be removed
from the exterior of the charger using a cloth or soft non-metallic
brush. Do not use water or any cleaning solutions.

Replacing Brushes in motor (Fig. 14–18)
(DcST960 only)
Follow the instructions below to replace the brushes on the DCST960
string trimmer, or bring the trimmer to a D
e
WALT factory service
center, a D

WALT authorized service center, or other qualified service
personnel. Always use identical replacement parts.
1. Remove battery.
2. Using a T10 screwdriver, remove the four outer screws (14A)
from the cap (14B) of the motor housing (E) and pull the cap off of
the housing (Fig. 14).

13. Push the spool into the spool housing and turn counterclockwise
to lock the spool in place. Ensure the white nub (12B) appears in
the spool window (9B).

condition, store spare line in a plastic,

3. Plastic parts may be cleaned by using a mild soap and a damp rag.
4. The line cutter on the edge of the guard can dull over time. It is
recommended you periodically touch-up the sharpness of the
blade with a file
.

WARNING:
Blow dirt and dust out of all air vents
with clean, dry air at least once a week. To minimize the risk of
eye injury, always wear ANSI Z87.1 approved eye protection when
performing this.
