6 - Donning the mask
(see diagrams)

Place the mask around your neck;

Take the upper strap of the harness;

Place the chin in position in the mask;
6.4
Place the upper strap on the crown of the head and the lower strap
on the neck;

Adjust the length of the harness using the strap adjustments (only
do this once);

The straps should not be twisted nor cover the ears;

Test for tightness:
To check that the mask is fitted properly, take the filters in their packaging
(without removing the packaging) and screw them into the connections.
Breathe in deeply and hold your breath. If there is a leak, the mask will
come unstuck from the face. If necessary, readjust the harness and repeat
the test.
DO NOT USE THE MASK IF YOU CANNOT MAKE IT AIRTIGHT
7 - Fitting the filters & pre-filters
Check that you have chosen the filter type corresponding to the planned
application. If you have planned to use a (
M3000 PREP2R or PREP3R
) pre-
filter, it should be used with
A
filters
ABE1 or ABEK1
.

To fit the
M3000
PREP2R
&
PREP3R
pre-filters (slotted over a filter),
remove the pre-filters from their packaging. Put the pre-filters into the
adapters and clip the adapter on top of the filter.

To fit the filters, remove their packing. Unscrew the filter screw then
screw it into the ½ mask screw holes with the corresponding filter.

– Storage
The filters should be stored in an uncontaminated atmosphere in a clean
dry location. New filters should be stored in their shrink wrap packaging.
(Away from heat or sun light).
Storage temperature should be between -5ºC and +35ºC, and humidity less
than 75% HR. If filters are not kept in their original packing or if they are not
stored according to the recommended conditions, the end of shelf life might
no longer be valid.

9 - Cleaning and disinfecting (the ½ mask)
9.1
Clean all the components with soapy water and disinfect the inside of
the mask with an antiseptic solution.
Do not use petrol, chlorine or
organic based solvents;

Rinse in clear water;
9.3
Shake to eliminate surplus water;
9.4
Check the valves for damage.
If they are damaged, the mask
should be replaced;

Test for tightness:

Do not clean the cartridges.
REPLACE AFER USE (AS OF SATURATION)
Warning:
The lifespan of the mask after initial use is difficult to determine. It
depends on the atmosphere of the workplace. It is recommended to carry
out a visual inspection. This should be carried out by a qualified person
(safety officer).
