PROBLEMS RESOLVABLE WITHOUT CONTACTING A TECHNICAL SERVICE CENTRE
PROBLEM
The appliance does not come on.
Steam is not delivered from the iron
Steam comes out of the bottom of the
appliance
When the appliance is turned on, it
continues to request the initial start up
sequence (enter language, water
hardness, …)
Water leaks out from the holes in the
bottom of the sole plate.
Brown coloured fluid leaks from the
sole plate
The first time the appliance is turned
on, you notice smoke
The appliance emits an intermittent
noise associated with vibrations.
The appliance emits a contnuos noise
associated with vibrations.
CAUSE
•
The appliance is not plugged into
a mains socket.
•
The iron is heating up.
•
The ironing system is set to
manual and regulated to low tem-
perature (less than ).
•
The steam pressure in the control
unit is too low.
•
The iron is set to one of the pro-
grammes which do not envisage
use of steam (Quick&go, synthe-
tics, silk).
•
Automatic iron shut off is set.
•
None of the above.
•
The maximum pressure safety
system has tripped.
•
The first operating cycle has not
been completed correctly.
•
Water has condensed inside the
tubes because steam is being used
for the first time, or has not been
used for some time.
•
The ironing system is positioned
on an unstable and/or sloping
surface.
•
Chemical water softeners or addi-
tives have been poured into the
water tank.
•
Some parts have been treated with
sealer/lubricant which evaporates
the first time the iron heats up.
•
Water is being pumped into the
steam generator.
SOLUTION
•
Make sure the appliance is cor-
rectly connected and press the
ON/OFF button on the left of the
front control panel.
•
Wait for the iron to reach the working
temperature as explained on page 15.
•
Select a high temperature.
•
Wait for pressure in the control unit
to reach the rated value.
•
Select another programme.
•
Press any button and/or turn the
function selection knob.
•
Turn off, allow to cool down, then
turn on again. If the problem con-
tinues, contact an authorised
De'Longhi technical service centre.
•
Turn the appliance off immediately
and contact an authorised
De'Longhi technical service centre.
•
Finish the first operating cycle cor-
rectly as described on page 6 (first
start up).
•
Press the steam delivery button a
number of times away from the iro-
ning board. This will eliminate cold
water from the steam circuit.
•
Rest the ironing system on a stable
flat surface.
•
Never pour products into the water
tank (see our tips in the quick
guide). Clean the sole plate with a
damp cloth.
•
This is normal and will stop when
you have used the iron a few times.
•
This is completely normal.
•
Unplug the system from the mains
and contact an authorised
De'Longhi technical service centre.
