13.1 Installing the filter
1. Remove the filter (C4) from the packaging.
2. Turn the date indicator disk (see fig. 44) until the next two
months of use are displayed.

The filter lasts about two months if the appliance is used nor-
mally. If the coffee machine is left unused with the filter in-
stalled, it will last a maximum of three weeks.
3. To activate the filter, run tap water through the hole in the
filter as shown in the figure until water comes out of the
openings at the side for more than a minute (fig. 45).
4. Extract the tank (A7) from the appliance and fill with
water.

5. Insert the filter in the water tank and immerse it complete-
ly for about ten seconds, sloping it and pressing it lightly to
enable the air bubbles to escape (fig. 46).
6. Insert the filter in the filter housing (A9) (fig. 47) and press
as far as it will go.

7. Close the tank with the lid (A8) (fig. 48), then replace the
tank in the machine.
When you install the filter, you must notify the appliance of its
presence.
8. Press the
MENU/ESC button (B3) to enter the menu;
9. Press < (B12) or > (B8) (fig. 9) until “Install filter” appears
on the display (B4).
10. Press the button (B5).
11. “Install?” is displayed.
12. Press the
button to confirm the selection. “Water
delivery Press OK” is displayed.
13. Position a container under the hot water spout (C6) (min.
capacity: 100ml).
14. Press the button to confirm the selection. The
appliance begins hot water delivery and the message
“Please wait” is displayed.
15. After the flow of hot water stops, the appliance automatically
resets to “Ready for coffee” status.

13.2 Replacing the filter
When the “ ” symbol and “REPLACE FILTER” appear on the
display (B4), after two months (see date indicator) or when the
appliance has not been used for 3 weeks, you should replace the
filter (C4):
1. Extract the tank (A7) and exhausted filter.
2. Take the new filter out of its packet and proceed as illus-
trated in points 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in the previous section.
3. Position a container with a minimum capacity of 100ml
under the hot water spout (C6).
4. Press the
MENU/ESC
button (B3) to enter the menu.
5. Press < (B12) or > (B8) until “Replace filter?” appears on
the display (B4).
6. Press the button (B5).
7. The message “Confirm?” appears on the display.
8. Press the
button to confirm the selection.
