• Place the required quantity of coffee into the basket (fig.5). See

Table 1 page 6 for suggested quantities of coffee.
Replace the basket cover and lid.
We recommend using coffee ground specifically for  percola-
tors, as the coffee grounds are larger in size and will not pass
through the basket during the brewing process.

The flavour of the coffee can be made weaker or stronger by

simply rotating the thermostat knob between the LIGHT posi-
tion (weak flavour) and the DARK (strong flavour).
It is quite normal for the coffee to be cooler when the thermo-
stat knob is in the LIGHT position, than when in the DARK
position.
The setting of the thermostat knob can also be changed during
operation. For example, if the thermostat knob is in the DARK
position, you can interrupt coffee delivery by turning the knob
to the KEEP WARM position.
If the thermostat knob is in the LIGHT position, you can turn
the knob to the DARK position and resume operation for a
further period of time until a higher temperature is obtained
and the coffee has a stronger flavour.

•  Place the percolator on the base. The appliance starts operating

when plugged into the mains socket. The indicator light (fig. 7)
will come on.
Coffee preparation takes about one minute per cup. At the end
of this time, the appliance automatically enters the KEEP WARM
mode and the ON/OFF indicator light (fig. 8) comes on.
Note that the KEEP WARM function continues even if all the
coffee is not poured. The thermostat senses that the liquid in
the percolator is still hot and does not resume coffee making
(even when the thermostat knob is positioned between LIGHT
and DARK).
If the percolator is removed and filled with cold water, when
the knob is between LIGHT and DARK, the appliance will
immediately start to prepare coffee.

IMPORTANT: make sure the lid is on firmly before using the
percolator.
To avoid overheating and energy consumption, we suggest you
do not put the empty percolator on the base when it is plugged
in and swiched on.
