results from your new appliance it is advisable to read these
instructions carefully before using the appliance. This is the only

Using for the first time

To eliminate the "new" smell when using the appliance for
the first time, operate it without food for at least five min-
utes. During this operation, ventilate the room.

Using the Toaster

"Toasting" function

• Plug the appliance into the mains. You will hear a beep and a

flashing "3" and three black segments appear on the display, indi-
cating that the toaster is set to an intermediate toast colour.
Use the +/- buttons to change the toast colour. The segments
corresponding to the toasting time change accordingly (fig.1).
During the selection phase, the toaster is in stand-by ready for
toasting;

• The first time you use the appliance, you are recommended to

use a medium toast colour.

• Place the slices of bread in the toasting slots and press the start

button     .You will hear a beep.
The carriage is lowered automatically and three lines     appear
on the display to indicate lowering. When the carriage has
reached the bottom, toasting begins (the number indicating the
selected toast colour and the segments corresponding to the
time remaining flash on the display).
As the toasting time progresses, the segments go out one by
one.You can modify the toast colour at any time during this
phase using the +/- buttons (both the numbers and segments
on the display change).

• To interrupt toasting, just press the stop/cancel button     ;
• When toasting is completed, you will hear a beep and the car-

riage rises.Three flashing lines are displayed in sequence from
the bottom to the top. When the carriage is in the raised posi-
tion, the last toast colour selected is displayed (flashing).
Once the      start button has been pressed to begin toasting,
press the stop/cancel button to block the carriage or cancel the
toasting process. Lowering of the carriage will continue until it
reaches the bottom, then it will rise.
During the selection phase (stand-by), if no button is pressed
within two minutes, the flashing number disappears and the seg-
ments only are displayed (screen saver).
When any button is pressed, the display returns to stand-by and
the last selection made is displayed.
