Confirm the Dell device’s IP address by
typing “ipconfig” in any command prompt
terminal (open command.exe).
Tip:
You can confirm the connection to your host
computer is established by typing “ping 192.168.137.1”
(or similar ip address) from a command prompt window
on the Dell device.
15.
Start Tomcat on the host computer, and
ensure the ThingWorx platform is
accessible.
16.
Download the ThingWorx Edge
Microserver for Windows package from
the PTC Support Downloads site.
Get the latest release of the “Win32”
package.
17.
Transfer the MicroServer zip file to the
Dell WYSE.
Tip:
You can create a shared folder on the Dell device and
transfer the file over a LAN, or you can move it using a
flash drive.
18.
Open the “config.json” file in
“\MicroServer\etc”,
or
open either
config.json.complete
or
config.json.minimal
and save it as
config.json
.
Note:
Open the
config.json.complete
, or
config.json.minimal
files, and work off of one them, and
Save As “config.json” when finished. It’s recommended
you start with
config.json.minimal
.
19.
Set the IP address for “ws_servers” to be
“192.168.137.1” and the port to be “80”
(Unless these numbers are different for
your local host ThingWorx computer;
replace them with your actual values)
20.
Set “appKey” to be the value of your
application key, generated in ThingWorx
under “Application Keys”.
