RECEIVING THE CHROMEBOOK 

 

A.

 

Chromebooks will be distributed starting Monday, September 14th 

B.

 

Before receiving the Chromebook, students and parents must sign and return a copy of 
the Acceptable Use Policy 

C.

 

Students will be walked through the setup/sign in process and the general use of the 
chromebooks 

 

RETURNING THE CHROMEBOOK 
 

A.

 

Chromebooks must be returned to the district at the end of each school year. 

B.

 

Students leaving the district must return the chromebooks to the district 

C.

 

If Chromebooks are not returned to the district will be considered as stolen property and 
law enforcement agencies will be notified. 

 
STUDENT INSURANCE 

 
$35 will be assessed to each student annually for insurance coverage (will 

NOT

 be waived).   

 
This insurance will cover the following: 

1.

 

All chromebooks will be maintained by USV 

2.

 

The school will cover the cost of repair for the first accident while the student is 
enrolled at USV. 

3.

 

After the first accident, the cost will be to the student. 
 

The responsibility for the cost of purposeful damage, negligence, loss, or theft will fall on the 
student/parent/guardian. 
 
All students will have the option to purchase his/her chromebook at the completion of their 
senior year.

 

 

TAKING CARE OF YOUR CHROMEBOOK  

 
Students are responsible for the general care of the Chromebook they have been issued by the 
school.

General Precautions  

1.

 

The Chromebook is school property and all users will follow this policy and the 
Acceptable Use Policy for technology.  

2.

 

Only use a clean, soft cloth to clean the screen. DO NOT USE cleansers of any 
type.  

3.

 

Cords, Cables, and Thumb Drives must be inserted carefully into the Chromebook 
to prevent damage.  

4.

 

Chromebook and cases must remain free of any writing, drawing, stickers, labels, 
etc. that are not property of Upper Scioto Valley Schools.
