General Area
Field name
Description
Name
User-defined name for the vNIC. Once you create the vNIC, the name cannot be
changed.
MTU
Maximum transmission unit, or packet size, that this vNIC accepts, between 1500 and
9000.
Uplink Port
Uplink port associated with this vNIC. All traffic for this vNIC goes through this uplink
port.
MAC Address
MAC address associated with the vNIC. To let the adapter select an available MAC
address from its internal pool, select
Auto
. To specify an address, click the second
radio button and enter the MAC address in the corresponding field.
Class of Service
Class of service (CoS) to associate with traffic from this vNIC, ranging between 0 and
6, with 0 as the lowest priority and 6 as the highest priority.
Trust Host CoS
Check this box if you want the vNIC to use the CoS provided by the host operating
system.
PCI Order
Order in which this vNIC will be used.
To allow the system to set the order, select
Any
. To specify an order, select the
second radio button and enter an integer between 0 and 99.
Default VLAN
If there is no default VLAN for this vNIC, click
None
. Otherwise, click the second radio
button and enter a VLAN ID between 1 and 4094.
VLAN Mode
To use VLAN trunking, select

Rate Limit
To provide the vNIC with an unlimited data rate, select

Enable PXE Boot
Check this box if the vNIC can perform a Preboot eXecution Environment (PXE) boot.

should equal the number of completion queue resources.
Coalescing Time
Time between interrupts or the idle period before an interrupt is sent. Enter a value
between 1 and 65535. To turn off interrupt coalescing, enter 0 (zero).
Coalescing Type
Select

to make the system wait for the time specified in the
