The manufacturer shall be free of any responsibility should the instructions in this book
not be followed. Please keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference.

This Chest Freezer is intended for household use only and must not be used for any
other purpose. The Chest freezer is to be used in completely dry areas only and
must be kept away from rain or any other moist environments.

Note:  This  Chest  Freezer  is  not  intended  for  use  by  persons  (including  children)
with  reduced  physical,  sensory  or  mental  capabilities,  or  lack  of  experience  and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use
of the Chest Freezer by a person responsible for their safety.
Children  should  be  supervised  to  ensure  that  they  do  not  play  with  the  Chest
Freezer.

Introduction

Unpacking

x

Ensure  that  packaging  material  is  disposed  of  in  a  responsible  manner.  Plastic  bags
should be cut up to prevent children playing with them and accidentally suffocating.

x

If the Chest Freezer is damaged in any way, do not use it. Report the damage to your
dealer, who will take the necessary corrective action.

In order to ensure normal operation of your Chest Freezer, the following points
must be observed :

x

Keep ventilation openings in the Chest Freezer enclosure or built-in structure clear of
obstruction.

x

Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process.

x

Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

x

Do  not  use  electrical  appliances  inside  the  food  storage  compartments  of  the  Chest
Freezer, unless they have been recommended by the manufacturer.

Important!

Transporting

The  Chest  Freezer  is  to  be  transported  in  the  vertical  position  where  possible.  The
packaging  must  be  free  from  defects  for  safe  transporting  of  the  Chest  Freezer.  If  the
Chest Freezer was  transported  in  the  horizontal  position  (according  to  the  markings  on
the packaging), it is advised that before operating, the Chest Freezer be left

to stand for

at least 12 hours before switching on to allow the compressor oil to settle.

Failure to observe these instructions may cause the motor compressor to
breakdown and will render the warranty void.

Defy strives for continuous improvements. For this reason, the text and illustrations in
this book are subject to change without notice.
