New ProCinema 800 and ProCinema 1000 Systems
Definitive Technology is pleased to announce a new generation of ProCinema Systems
incorporating a host of technological breakthroughs that clearly positions them as the industry’s
most advanced sub/sat systems anywhere near their incredibly affordable price range. Clearly,
Definitive’s ProCinema Systems have always delivered extraordinary performance and value.
The new systems build on this tradition and exceed all expectations.
The biggest challenge in designing a sub/sat system is to engineer small satellites with
frequency response that extends low enough to blend properly with the
subwoofer. For the new ProCinema systems we have
cleverly engineered built-in pressure-coupled
planar medite passive radiators into the satel-
lites and center channels (upward firing in the
sats and side firing in the centers). These dra-
matically extend the low frequency response
as well as deliver improved linearity, better
transient response and lower distortion. Other
advancements include BDSS, our new patent-
pending driver technology
that couples a unique
balanced double sur-
round system (at both
the apex and outer edge
of the cone) with a
precisely engineered
central waveguide.
This technology results
in smoother response
plus greatly improved
dynamic range and
dynamic stability.
The new ProCinema
800 system combines
four new ProMonitor
800s, a new ProCenter
1000 and a new ProSub 800.
The new ProCinema 1000 system
combines four new ProMonitor 1000s,
a new ProCenter1000 and a new ProSub 1000. The ProMonitors can also be used as
superb stand-alone speakers. In addition, there is a new ProCenter 2000 center channel.
The ProSubs as well as the ProMonitors and ProCenters are all available separately.
The satellites and center channels are available in high-gloss hand-rubbed
piano gloss black or white finishes. The satellites can be shelf mounted with their
unique tri-lobed base, wall mounted using the built-in keyhole mount or optional
pivot mount or stand mounted with their optional floor stands. The center chan-
nels have an adjustable foot for shelf mounting or can be wall mounted utilizing
their built-in threaded inserts.
Sonically the new ProCinema systems are a revelation in terms of achieving
incredible sound at an affordable price. Their imaging is absolutely boxless, spa-
cious and three-dimensional while delivering pinpoint specificity and localiza-
tion when called for. They are silky smooth with a “you
are there” presence which is unique at any price and
unheard of in their price range. They are dynamic
but capable of great subtlety so they equally excel
with music or movies.
