Using the Diagnostics Cable
If the LED no communication light is illuminated, using the diagnostics cable is the best way to
understand where the issue may be. In the top of the Deep Trekker carrying case is a secured
diagnostics cable. This cable is used to determine if a fault is caused from within the ROV itself or by a
problem in the tether.
Remove the tether from the ROV, as outlined in the manual section
Removing the Tether
, then connect
the diagnostics cable to the ROV. Connect your controller to the other end of the diagnostics cable, and
turn on the ROV.
If the ROV functions properly with the diagnostics cable attached, there is a fault within the tether. If
you are still experiencing communications issues the fault is most likely something within the ROV or
controller.
This is valuable information for you, Deep Trekker support and/or your authorized Deep Trekker Service
Center to know prior to sending a system in for service.
