7.3

Installation Troubleshooting, DSUs

First, set up the DSUs without connecting the BPF-BUs.  The DSUs
should be set to constant carrier, also called forced Request To Send,
or constant RTS.

Carrier Detect should be ON at both locations.

7.4

Installation Troubleshooting, BPF-BUs

Before trying terminals, make sure the BPF-BUs are able to “see”
each other.  Use the RTY# command to verify a response from the
remote BPF-BU.  If you get a correct response to RTY#, the link is up
and the BPF-BUs are communicating.
