To shutdown both units, use command:
SHUTDOWN DUAL.
To stop a timed shutdown that is in progress, use command:
SHUTDOWN KILL.
3.2.6 Setting the System’s Date and Time
Settings are automatically adjusted for leap years. Valid date settings are between years 2000 and
2104. In dual mode, settings should always be done on Unit 1. Changes will automatically be applied
to both units.
System Date
To display the current system date, use the command: DATE
<Enter>.
You can also change the system
date. For example, to change the date to March 14, 2005, type: DATE 3 14 2005
<Enter>.
System Time
To display the current system time, type:
TIME
<Enter>.
You can also change the system time. For
example, to change the time to 2:13:10pm, type:
TIME 14:13:10
<Enter>.
3.2.7 Saving the S2A9550’s Configuration
The
SAVE
command can be used to save the system configuration to non-volatile memory
(Figure 3-
21)
.
Backup copies of the system configuration are also saved on the disks. The system will automatically
save and update the backup copies when changes are made to the system configuration or status.
The
SAVE STATUS
command, in addition to saving the parameter blocks to non-volatile memory and
on the disks, displays the current status of the system parameters
(Figure 3-22)
.
Normally, the system must determine which copy of the parameter blocks is more recent, the one
on the disks or the internal copy. When the system reboots, it will load the more recent copy. The
SAVE FAVORDISKS=ON
command, instructs the system to always assume that the disk copy of the
parameter blocks is more recent. Default is off (
SAVE FAVORDISKS=ON)
. You should enable the
option when the disks in the system are removable and are swapped between controllers on a regular
basis.
3.2.8 Restoring the System’s Default Configuration
The
DEFAULTS
command may be used to restore the system to its default configuration.
