INSTALLATION
Install the equipment shelf as explained below:
1.
To install a 19-inch shelf in a 23-inch rack, attach mounting
bracket extensions which are furnished in a parts bag attached to
the unit. Mounting hardware is located in this same bag.
Refer to Fig. 2 for the following steps.
2.
Facing the frame rail, place the equipment shelf in the rack, at the
desired location. Secure with three Phillips-head screws and inter-
nal tooth lockwashers - two on the right side, top and bottom, and
one on the lower left side.
3.
Install one ESD stud, with lockwasher, in the upper left location.
4.
Secure all fasteners tightly, ensuring proper grounding between
the ESD stud and the frame rail.
5.
Place ESD label next to the ESD stud.
6.
From the rear of the bay, install ESD stud into frame rail next to
the equipment shelf. Secure tightly, ensuring proper grounding of
ESD stud. Place ESD label next to the ESD stud.
7.
Refer to shelf wiring documentation for proper placement of mod-
ules and external connection information.
