Park Brake Subassembly

1)

Place the gearbox on bench, Spindle (1A) flange up.

2)

Place the Input Coupling (11), with retaining rings (20B) and (20C) into the brake cavity in the spindle
resting on the Washer (4).

3)

Grease and install Quad-Ring (17J) into the small groove in the spindle bore.

4)

Grease and install Quad-Ring (17G) into the large groove in the spindle bore.

5)

Install the Brake Stators (17C) and Brake Rotors (17B) into the spindle and on the coupling, starting

with a stator and ending with a stator alternating with the rotors as shown. ** Keep the rotors as
centered as possible. **

6)

Grease the piston seal surfaces and push the Piston (17A) into the spindle bore in the quad-rings.

7)

Install the Springs (17D) into the spring pockets of the Piston (17A)

8)

Place the Pressure Plate (17L) onto the Springs (17D) aligning the holes with the holes in the Piston
(17A). Install the M6-1.0x20 Bolts (17M) through the Pressure Plate (17L) into the Piston (17A).
Tighten the bolts evenly, drawing the Pressure Plate (17L) down evenly as possible until the pressure
plate bottoms on the Piston (17A).

9)

Install the Retaining Ring (17K) into the groove in the Spindle (1A).

10) Remove the M6-1.0x20 Bolts (17M) evenly and

completely

. FAILURE TO REMOVE THE BOLTS

WILL MAKE THE BRAKE INEFFECTIVE!

11) Perform brake and leak tests per pages 6-8.

This concludes the Brake Subassembly.
