The compression setting is always separate for individual tracks
and thus applies for all camera pictures recorded on the
corresponding track. The greater the compression, the lower the
quality of the recorded pictures.
Picture quality inspection
As the compression level affects the picture quality, you can check
the quality by clicking the Compression button.

First select the desired compression level by clicking the
corresponding checkbox (A).

Then click the button for the camera (B) whose picture you would
like to check. The picture is now digitized at the set compression
level and displayed on the monitor.
When setting the compression, you should always take into account
that the subjective picture quality depends on the picture contents
recorded. Close-range recordings with little detail will appear better
than panoramic recordings with a lot of detail at the same
compression level.
For this reason, check the camera pictures before setting the
compression level, especially those pictures which are most
important for evaluation.

After checking the compression, you return to the Tracks dialog
by moving the cursor to the splitscreen and clicking the button
.
In day-to-day use, the picture content of the area determines the
appropriate compression. Compression level 0 is usually selected
for alarm recording, however, as the best possible picture quality
is desired for evaluation in case of an alarm.
