NTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the EKAC120A address card kit. This
kit will enable you to communicate with your chiller through a
Building Management System or supervisory system. Please refer
to the Gateway Installation Manual for more information and a
detailed overview of how the communication works.

RANGE
This specific address card is designed to function with chillers of
the ranges EUWA*80~120**, EUWA*160~200** and
EUW*120~200**. Since these chillers contain two PCBs, you will
need one kit of two address cards per chiller.

The kit you have just purchased consists of:

2 address cards (type EKAC120A) with connectors

1 connection wire to field rail
■
1 connection wire for connecting PCB A and PCB B

Connection to the chiller
The connection is made automatically when you insert the
address cards into the PCB. The connection occurs through three
pins:

If handled inappropriately, your address card may suffer damage.
Hold your address card by the edges. Never touch the rear end of
the card with your hands.
Before starting up the unit for the first time, make sure that
it has been properly installed. It is therefore necessary to
read the installation manual supplied with the unit and the
recommendations listed in “Checks before initial start-up”
carefully.

TURN THE POWER OFF BEFORE INSTALLING THE
ADDRESS CARD.
This unit has a double circuit. This means that there are two
PCBs. You have to install an address card on each PCB.
Install the address cards
Follow these instructions to install the address card on PCB A.

Take the address card by the edges.

Carefully place the adress card with the socket over the 7-pin
PCB header as in figure 2.

Repeat steps 1 and 2 to install the address card on PCB B.

Connect the address card of PCB A to the address card of PCB
B as listed below. Use the same screw connectors.

Connect the address card of PCB B to the field rail
(refer to figure 3)
Connect as listed below. Use the same screw connectors as with
the connection of both address cards.

Connect the field rail to the gateway or to the other
address card
You have two possibilities:
■
If the chiller is the first in line or the only one to connect to a
gateway, connect it to the gateway directly.
■
If the chiller is a chiller in line and not the first one in line,
connect it to another chiller.
