General Operation
4.1
Quick Guide
If it is your first time to use this device, you can follow the steps listed below.
Before the quick guide operation, please make sure:
There are no free slots on the front panel. All slots are installed with the free disks.
System is going to create 3 RAID5 groups. The last disk is the global hot spare disk.
You can refer to chapter 4.2 to create share directory directly if it is necessary.
4.2
Create Share Directory
4.2.1 Create SAMBA Share
Please refer to the following flow chart for detailed information.
a) Please refer to chapter 3.1 to login the WEB interface.
b) Refer to chapter 3.2.3.2
to create system user and the type shall be “SAMBA/NFS/FTP”.
c) Refer to chapter 3.4.3 to add RAID group.
d) Refer to chapter 3.4.4 to add storage pool.
e) Refer to chapter 3.4.5 to add user volume.

Refer to chapter 3.6.1 to add SMABA share directory.

Select the storage pool on the step 4.

Enable SAMBA share function and disable NFS and FTP share mode

Select valid user.
g) Click OK button.
After you created share mode, please refer to chapter 4.3.1 to access the contents of the
SAMBA share directory.
4.2.2 Create NFS Share
You can refer to the steps in chapter 4.2.1 to create NFS share directory. There are slightly
differences on the share directory setup and enable share service.
Please refer to chapter 4.2.1 to quickly create NFS share.
Refer to chapter 3.6.1 to enable NFS share mode and disable SAMBA and FTP share mode.
4.2.3 Create FTP Share
Generally speaking, the following flow chart is the same as the NAS share/SAMBA share. Here
we are going to introduce share setup and FTP setup.
