Preparing for Vacation/Absence

Upon Your Return
After a short vacation/absence:
Reconnect the water supply and turn on the supply valve. 1.
Monitor the water connection for 24 hours and correct leaks if 2.

Run 10-15 glasses of water from the dispenser to flush out the 3.
system.
Restart the ice maker by lowering the ice maker arm. 4.
Discard at least the first three ice harvests. 5.
After a long vacation/absence:
Reconnect the water supply and turn on the supply valve. 1.
Plug the refrigerator back in and reset the controls (see page 2.
3).
Monitor the water connection for 24 hours and correct leaks, if 3.
necessary.
Run water through the dispenser for at least three minutes 4.
with the filter bypass in place, then install the water filter (see
page 7).
After installing the water filter, run water through the dispenser 5.
continuously for at least two minutes, or until water runs
steady. Initially you may notice a one to two minute delay in
water dispersal as the internal tank fills.
Restart the ice maker by lowering the ice maker arm. 6.
Discard ice produced within the first 12 hours (at least the first 7.
three harvests).
Preparing to Move
Follow the instructions for long vacations/absences, through

Secure all loose items such as shelves and drawers by taping

them securely in place to prevent damage.
Tape the doors shut.

Use an appliance dolly when moving the refrigerator. Always

truck the refrigerator from its side or back - never from its
front.
Be sure the refrigerator stays in an upright position during

moving.
WARNING
Tip Over Hazard
Refrigerator is top heavy and tips easily when not
completely installed.
Keep doors taped closed until refrigerator is
completely installed.
Use two or more people to move and install
refrigerator.
Failure to do so can result in death or serious injury.
