DSS-16+ unmanaged switch with (16) 10/100BASE-TX ports is a solution for the small business looking
to expand network connectivity at an affordable price. The D-Link Express EtherNetwork

line of products combine
ease of use, with unsurpassed performance for an exceptional value.
Ease of Use
The DSS-16+ is truly a Plug-&-Play switch, with features like:
• Auto Speed Sensing - The Switch senses whether a network device is running at 10Mbps or 100Mbps and
automatically adjusts for optimal performance.
• Auto Negotiation (Full or Half Duplex) - Whether you are running at Half- or in Full-Duplex, the Switch automatically
negotiates and runs the highest supported transmission rate.
• Auto MDI/MDIX Crossover - All ports support auto-negotiating MDI/MDIX detection, which eliminates the need
for crossover cables or uplink ports. Every port can be connected to another switch or PC Station.
The DSS-16+ is the perfect choice for Plug-&-Play support for 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX networks.
Wire-speed Performance
The DSS-16+ features a non-blocking wire-speed architecture, with a 3.2Gbps switching capacity, for maximum data
throughput. The DSS-16+ also features an integrated universal power supply, and per port diagnostics LEDs that make
it easy to “spot check” for problems. With wire-speed filltering and Store-and-Forward switching, the DSS-16+ maximizes
network performance while minimizing the propagation of bad network packets.
Quality of Service
The DSS-16+ supports 802.1p Quality of Service (QoS). QoS assists in the prompt delivery of time sensitive data
such as voice, video, and gaming traffic. When frames enter the switch with 802.1p priority tags, they are automatically
placed in one of two built-in hardware queues. Frames with higher priority tags are then passed through the switch
more efficiently, helping eliminate jitter and lag in VoIP and multimedia traffic.
