11.8 Dots and horizontal streaks periodically appear in the paper feed
direction
CAUSE REMEDY
If the period is approximately 63 mm,
the glossy cylinder of the image drum
is damaged or dirty.
Gently wipe it with a soft tissue.
Replace the image drum if it is damaged.
If the period is approximately 26 mm,
foreign material is attached to the
electrostatic roller in the image drum.
Open and close the top cover or feeder cover, and perform printing again.
The image drum has been exposed
to light. Return the image drum to the inside of the device and do not use the device
for several hours.
If this does not solve the problem, replace the image drum.
11.9 White background areas are faintly dirty
CAUSE REMEDY
The paper has an electrostatic charge. Use paper that is stored in an environment with suitable temperature and hu-
midity.
Heavy paper is being used. Use lighter paper.
Toner is low. If “Replace toner” or “Toner empty” is displayed, replace the toner cartridge
(see
paragraph 5.4 ).
