4. Cone Panel Assembly
Next, assemble the four (4) cone panels to the fan using the hardware provided (use cone/guard hardware
kit). First, lay out all four (4) cone panels face down (flanges up) and butt the flanges together as shown
in
Figure 4A . Using the 5/16" x 3/4" bolts, bolt all four (4) panels together, making sure to leave the nuts
loose on the top (or inside) to facilitate installation onto the venturi. Pick up the entire assembly of panels
and form a circle until the final two (2) flanges meet. Install bolts along this flange as the previous other
three (3), again leaving the top bolt and nut loose. Install the cone panel brackets as shown in
Figure 4B
leaving the bolts and nuts finger-tight. Using at least two (2) people, lift the cone panel assembly onto the
venturi and align the holes of the brackets with the holes on the face of the fan. Insert the 5/16" bolts into
the holes of the top brackets and tighten. Repeat for the bottom two (2) brackets. Finally, tighten the
four (4) cone panel bolts that were left loose, then tighten the eight (8) bracket bolts on the cone panels.
The cone assembly is now securely fastened to the fan.
Next, attach the grill guard to the cone panel assembly, as shown in Figure 4C .
