Curt-O-Matic Installation

Electrical Connections
Curt-O-Matic II
- 240 volt models should be connected to the fan circuit.
Curt-O-Matic III
- 240 volt models should be connected to the fan circuit. The Curt-O-Matic III can be
connected to the AAIII, farm hand alarm or other N.O. or N.C. alarm systems using the Com., N.O., and
N.C. wires from the auxiliary switch. This allows the alarm to activate in the event that the arm trips.
Refer to the wiring diagrams
NOTE:
Ensure that the Curt-O-Matic II / Curt-O-Matic III is connected to the same circuit and/or phase as
the Power-Trak and/or primary source of ventilation.
Operating Instructions
With power ON, raise the trip arm and insert the expansion finger into the heater hole making certain that
the finger moves freely. Wait for one minute and place the cable loop in the Curt-O-Matic load slot.
Troubleshooting
If the trip arm releases too early or too late, the expansion finger may need to be adjusted.
Before resetting the expansion finger, note that the clearance between the end of the expansion finger and
main body should be approximately the thickness of a quarter dollar.
If the trip arm releases too soon, allow the finger to completely cool then expand the expansion finger to
where it will just enter heater hole freely at room temperature. If the trip releases too late, compress the
expansion finger slightly.
Do not insert the adjustable finger into the Curt-O-Matic when any resistance to insertion is felt. When the
finger is completely cool, the trip arm must be allowed to fall freely without resistance.

To allow proper finger adjustment and prevent a burn hazard, ensure that the
expansion finger is completely cool before adjustment is attempted.
