the unit for 16 hours or overnight for a
full new charge . This procedure improves
battery capacity and should be repeated
once every 2 –3 months to ensure optimum
performance .
CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
Simply wipe all parts with a damp cloth
then dry thoroughly . Do not place in the
dishwasher . Avoid wetting battery contacts .
Any other servicing should be preformed by
an authorized service representative .
DISPOSAL/RECYCLING
OF BATTERIES
This product uses four NiMH rechargeable
and recyclable batteries . At the end of the
batteries’ useful life, they should be recycled .
These batteries must not be incinerated or
composted .
NiMH batteries should not be put in
municipal waste systems . Contact your local
waste collection agency for proper recycling
and disposal information for your area .
BATTERY AND LIGHT
REPLACEMENT
You’ll get years of enjoyment from your
Cuisinart Salt and Pepper Mills, but even
rechargeable batteries don’t last forever! It’s
easy to extend the life of your mills by
replacing them . Order replacement batteries
and light bulbs from our Customer Service
Centre at 1-800-472-7606 .
Replacing the batteries:
Twist to detach spice holder from mill
handle . Turn the black plastic cross bar
located on the underside of the handle
counterclockwise . (See diagram A) Turn the
handle over, and the battery holder will easily
slide out of the stainless steel shell . (See
diagram B) Replace with rechargeable NiMH
AA 1300mAh batteries only .
Place battery holder into handle and turn
crossbar clockwise to lock .
Replacing the light:
To remove the light bulb on the bottom of
the mill, grasp the bulb on either side and
pull it out . To replace the bulb, plug it back
in with the metal wires facing the raised tabs
on either side of the sleeve .
