Maintenance
WARNING!
Before any service, repair,
or inspection: disengage all controls, stop
the engine and remove the safety key (if
equipped) and spark plug wire from spark
plug to prevent unintended starting.
Engine
Refer to the Engine Operator’s Manual for all engine
maintenance procedures and instructions.
NOTE:
Maintenance, repair, or replacement
of the emission control devices and systems
which are being done at owner’s expense may
be performed by an authorized service dealer.
Cleaning the Blower
Any fuel or oil spilled on the machine should
be wiped off promptly. Do NOT allow debris to
accumulate around the engine cooling fins, the fan
intake area or on any other part of the machine.
WARNING!
If the engine has been
recently run, the engine, muffler and
surrounding metal surfaces will be hot
and can cause burns to the skin. Exercise
caution to avoid burns.
Lubrication
Using a pressure lubricating gun, lubricate the front
caster wheel axle grease fitting with Cub Cadet 251H
EP grease at least once per season. See Figure 5-1.
Figure 5-1
•
For units not equipped with a self-propelled
feature: lubricate the rear wheel axel grease
fittings with Cub Cadet 251H EP grease at least
once per season.
•
Periodically lubricate all other pivot points
with a quality lubricating oil.
Drive Controls
If excessive slack is present in drive cable or if unit’s
drive is disengaging intermittently during operation,
the cable may need adjustment or replacement.
Contact an authorized service dealer for all drive
cable adjustments.
If full range of speeds (forward and reverse) cannot
be achieved, consult an authorized Service dealer for
repair or replacement.
Brake (If Equipped)
If excessive slack is present in the brake cable or if
operating the brake bail does not bring the blower to
a complete stop contact an authorized service dealer
to have the unit serviced.
Tire Pressure
Check the tire air pressure weekly. Keep the tires
inflated to the recommended pressures. Improper
inflation will shorten the tire service life.
•
Do not inflate the tires above 20 psi.
•
Do not reinflate a tire that has been run flat or
seriously under inflated. Have it inspected and
serviced by an authorized service technician.
