2.0  Installation

2.1  Mechanical
The 2005 is packaged in an aluminum extrusion. The -R option is mounted on a 1 3/4” X 19”panel that can be
mounted to a  rack using the 4 holes at  the ends.  Both units derive  +DC from the RF out center  conductor (+14 to
+20 VDC) or the wall power supply (+15VDC unregulated). See Figure 2.3.

2.1.1  Cleaning Instructions
Wipe the exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Use no detergent or cleaning chemicals.

2.2  Front Panel Controls and Indicators
Figure 2.1 shows the controls and indicators located on the front panel.

SW6 - LO SIDE SELECT
SPDT slide switch  selects high side (C)
or low side (Ku) local oscillator.

DS1 - DC POWER LED
Lights green when DC power
is present

SW1 to SW4 - FREQ SELECT SWITCHES
BCD switches select the desired output frequency
which is the Local Oscillator frequency - 70 ,  -140,
+70,  or +140 MHz.

DS2 -   ALARM   LED
Lights red when PLL
comes out of lock

SW5 - IF SELECT
SPDT slide switch  selects
70 or 140 MHz IF in.

J1 - IF   INPUT
The IF 70 or 140 MHz
input . This is a 75

BNC input at -10 dBm
max  level for LOW GAIN
(-30 dB) and -30 dBm
max level for HI GAIN (-
10 dB). The gain is
selected by SW7.

J3 - DC POWER
The +15 VDC unregulated DC voltage
from the wall power supply.

J2 - RF OUTPUT
The mixed RF output.
This is an unfiltered
output and contains
mainly the LO- IF, LO,
LO + IF, mixer products.
