6. Troubleshooting - Electrical
Problem
Causes
Check procedures /corrective measures
The machine does
not operate when
the power switch
is turned on.
The power cord is not plugged
in properly.
Check the contact between the power plug
and the outet.
Broken power cord.
Check for continuity. If nothing, replace
the cord.
Defective power swtich.
Check for continuity across the contacts.
If nothing, replace the power switch.
Blown fuse in the power supply
unit.
Check for continuity. If nothing, remove
the cause of the fault, and replace the
fuse.
Defective power supply unit.
With AC present, check for 24V DC betwe
-
en the V+ and the V- on the power supply
unit. If nothing, replace the PSU.
Firmware is erased.
Upgrade the firmware.
The screen is
blank.
Firmware is erased.
Upgrade the firmware.
Temp sensor error. Loose connection.
Check the FFC cable connections.
Temp sensor damaged.
Replace the FFC panel.
FFC cable damaged.
Replace the FFC cable.
Pr3Dator panel fault.
Replace the Pr3Dator panel.
Machine is shaking
when homing the
print head.
Loose limit switch connection. Check the connections.
Switch is broken.
Check the limit switch by a multimeter.
Replace the whole cable if faulty.
Read timeout
during firmware

Using old CraftPrint.
Install the latest CraftPrint version.
Firmware need to be erased.
Erase the firmware with the buttons.
Bed does not heat
up.
Loose bed heater connector.
Check the connection.
Broken heating element.
Check the resistance of the heating ele

Hotend
overheating.
Temp sensor is not in place.
Put back the temp sensor into the hotend.
Temp sensor damaged.
Replace the FFC panel.
The printed object
does not stick to
the build plate.
Build plate is dirty.
Clean the build plate with acetone.
The build plate is uneven.
Try to straighten the build plate.
Replace if neccessary.
The build plate is not
calibrated, the nozzle is too
far from the surface.
Calibrate the build plate.
Machine is noisy.
Worn bearings.
Replace the worn bearings.
Worn fans.
Replace the worn fans.
Bad print quality. The nozzle is damaged.
Replace the nozzle.
The nozzle is clogged.
Clean the nozzle. Replace if neccessary.
Filament drive gear dirty.
Clean the filament drive gear.
Filament drive gear worn.
Replace the filament drive gear.
Swing misallignment.
Check the distance between the filament
bearing and the drive gear. Adjust the gap
with the ext_top part, if neccessary.
Hotend damaged.
Replace the hotend.
