Clean Out Tool
The clean out tool is provided to unclog the discharge opening. Do not
unclog discharge chute while engine is running.
WARNING: Before unclogging, shut off engine and
remain behind handles until all moving parts have
stopped completely. Never put your hand in the
discharge or collector openings. Always use the
clean-out tool provided.
Choke Control
Activating choke control closes the choke plate on carburetor and aids
in starting engine. For information on choke usage, see page 10 of this
manual.
Recoil Starter & Starter Handle
This motor is fitted with a recoil action pull start and a mitten grip
handle for easy access while wearing gloves or mittens.
Ignition Key
The ignition key is necessary for the engine to start. Insert key and
snap in place; do not turn it to start/stop the unit. Remove key when
the unit is not in use.
Primer
Depressing primer forces fuel directly into engine’s
carburetor to aid in cold-weather starting. Refer to the
starting instructions in the Operation section of this
manual for proper primer usage.
Oil Fill
Remove oil cap to add oil. Refer to page 14 for checking and adding
oil instructions.
Gasoline Cap
Remove gas cap to add fuel. Unit runs on regular gas.
NOTE:
This unit may include a fuel plug, which is only used during
assembly to keep dirt and debris out of fuel tank. Discard the fuel plug
before filling the fuel tank.
Throttle Control
The throttle control is located on the engine. It regulates the
speed of the engine and also stops the engine. The image to
the right represents the speeds of the throttle control.
