f) Keep the tools clean and sharp.
Cutting tools with sharp blades which are
properly maintained are less likely to jam and are easier to check.
g) For electric tools, attachments etc. follow the instructions carefully.
Only
use the particular tool in a correct manner for its specific purpose taking the
working conditions and kind of work into consideration. The use of the electric
tool for work other than it was intended for can result in a dangerous situation.
Service
a) Let qualified staff, using only original spare parts, carry out service and
repairs. This guarantees that the safety of the electric tool is maintained.
Special safety precautions for orbital sander
1. Wear protective mask when doing grinding and where possible use a vacuum
cleaner attached to the machine.
2. Be extra careful when sanding paint as they may contain lead, or when
sanding wood, metal or other material that may produce toxic dust. Make sure
that persons at or near the workplace are protected
3. Sanding dust can pose a serious fire hazard when it is mixed with air.
Use ear protectors, safety goggles and respiratory
protective equipment.
