IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
AUTO SHUT-OFF
• The iron will automatically switch off after about 30 seconds if there’s no motion with the
soleplate down, or about 8 minutes if placed upright.
• The appliance will sound an alert reminder.
• The light will blink, and keep on blinking till you move the iron.
• To switch on again, lift it up, tilt it forward, then sit it upright to return to operating
temperature.
FILLING
• Tap water may be used for the iron but if you live in a hard-water area, you should use
distilled water (not chemically descaled water).
• If you buy distilled water, ensure that it is marketed as suitable for irons.
• Do not add anything to the water when using with the iron to prevent damaging the iron.
• Unplug the appliance.
• Set the steam control to ( ).
• Open the cover.
• Tilt the iron till the cover is vertical.
• Pour water from the jug into the water inlet.
• Pour slowly, to allow the air in the reservoir to escape, and avoid an airlock.
• Don’t fill past the MAX mark on the reservoir, or water will spill during operation.
• Close the cover. Wipe any spillage.
SWITCHING ON
• Set the steam control to ( ).
• Sit the iron on its heel.
• Insert the power plug into the power supply.
• When the iron reaches the set temperature, the light will go off. It will then cycle on and
off as the thermostat operates to maintain the temperature.
STEAM IRONING
• Set the steam control to the setting you want [ ( ) = no steam, ( ) = high].
• Wait till the light goes off, then start ironing.
SHOT OF STEAM
• Lift the iron off the fabric.
• Press the ( ) button.
• You may have to press the ( ) 2 or 3 times to pump water through the system.
• Leave 4 seconds between shots so as to allow the steam to build up.
FOLLOW BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been supervised/instructed and understand the hazards
involved.
2. Children shall not play with the appliance.
3. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older than
8 and supervised.
4. Keep the appliance and cable out of reach of children under 8.
5. Use the iron, or set it on its heel, on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface, preferably an
ironing board.
6. Don’t leave the iron unattended while plugged in, or while it’s standing on the ironing
board.
7. Unplug the iron before filling, before cleaning, and after use.
8. Do not operate the appliance if it’s dropped or damaged, or if it malfunctions or leaks.
9. If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or
a similarly qualified person to avoid hazards.
10. Do not touch the surfaces of the appliance as they will get hot.
11. Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquids
12. Do not use the appliance in a bathroom, near water, or outdoors.
13. Do not iron clothing while it’s being worn to avoid bodily and personal injuries
14. Do not use the appliance for any purpose other than those described in these
instructions.
15. Do not scratch the soleplate. Avoid ironing over buttons, zips and etc.
16. The appliance has a protective thermal fuse, which will blow if it overheats. If this
happens, the appliance will stop working, and must be returned for inspection and
repairs.
BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Remove any labels, stickers or packaging from the iron and soleplate.
• Smoke may escape from the iron during first use. This is normal and not a malfunction
as this will stop as the element cures.
• Iron an old piece of cotton fabric to clean the soleplate.
• Press the ( ) and ( ) buttons 3 or 4 times to ensure the steam and water spray
functions are functioning properly.
