How to use a monocular
•
Use the eye with the best vision and hold monocular up against this eye holding it with the hand on the
same side as the dominant eye.
•
If you wear glasses wear them whilst using the monocular and let the monocular press lightly against
your glasses.
•
Hold the monocular as close to your eye as possibly (without touching it) while gripping the barrel close
to the ocular lens (the lens near your eye). Close the other eye to maintain focus, and steady the
monocular by resting your forefinger against your brow. Keep your elbow against your body to help keep
the arm still.
•
Adjust the focus rotating the dial (+/-). If the view is becoming blurrier instead of clearer, rotate the dial
in the other direction.
CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:
•
Avoid touching surfaces with fingers or any coarse material.
•
All optics, even if stored, must be cleaned approximately and recommend at least twice a year or
whenever they are dirty.
•
The dust that builds up on coatings promotes mould growth, which etches glass and destroys optical

•
Avoid over-cleaning; it can damage the coatings.
