waterAlarm

model # WA-01 and WA-10

Thank you for purchasing the waterAlarm™ from Control Products.
Control Products has been making quality temperature and environmental
control products since 1985.

The waterAlarm™ senses moisture and activates a local, audible alarm.
On the Deluxe waterAlarm (model WA-10), there is also a set of contacts
that close when the alarm has detected moisture.  This can be used to
activate a remote monitoring device similar to Control Products’ Deluxe
FreezeAlarm
.  The Deluxe FreezeAlarm can dial up to three telephone
numbers when moisture is detected and play a message specific to a
water emergency.

Activates upon sensing water.

Powered by 9 volt alkaline battery (not included)

l

85db alarm sounds for up to 36 hours on a fully charged battery.

l

Convenient self-test button

l

Sensor may be placed 5 feet from unit.

l

Low battery indicated by intermittent beep from alarm.

Connection to a monitoring device via 12” leads  (WA-10 only).

For Stand Alone Operation (WA-01 or WA-10)
1. Remove the 2 screws from back of unit and remove back cover.  Attach a 9 volt alkaline battery (not included), being sure to

press the clips firmly in place.  On WA-10 models only, you can remove the twist tie on the gray cable and extend through the
hole in the side of the unit.  Leaving this cable hanging freely does not affect the operation of the waterAlarm as a stand alone
water detection device.  Re-assemble.

2. Press and hold the blue test button down for two seconds and the alarm will sound.  If it does not sound, check battery connections.
3. For Leak/Flood Detection, place the sensor (suction cup up) at the lowest point on the floor or other horizontal

surface where water collects.

4. For Unattended filling of pools, spas, etc., use the suction cup to attach sensor to smooth vertical surface.  Buzzer

will sound when water reaches both metal contacts on the sensor.  The contacts on the monitoring lead will also “close”.

For Operation with a Remote Monitoring Device:
1. Set up the waterAlarm™ as indicated above.
2. Connect the monitoring lead wires to the monitoring device.  When moisture is detected, the waterAlarm™ will close

the contacts on the monitoring lead.  NOTE:  The relay that closes the contact on the monitoring lead opens and
closes in the same pattern as the alarm beeps.  When water is detected, the alarm will beep, thereby opening and
closing the monitoring lead rapidly.
