Connecting Input Signals
Connect the input signals to a device which can be current-driven, such as a switch or transistor output
device.
The connection requires an external power supply to feed currents.
The board inputs the ON/OFF state of the current-driven device as a digital value.

The input circuits of interface blocks of the PIO-32/32B(PCI)V are illustrated in Figure 3.4. The signal
inputs are isolated by opto-couplers (ready to accept current sinking output signals). The board therefore
requires an additional power supply isolated from the PC system to drive the photo-isolated circuits. The
board offers you an on-board isolated 12VDC power supply in option. In this case (using external
supply), 5.1mA current is requested each channel on 24VDC (2.6mA on 12VDC).
