c) DCF reception

The DCF signal is a signal broadcast from a transmit-
ter in Main

fl

ingen (near Frankfurt am Main). Its range

is up to 1500 km and, under ideal reception conditions,
even up to 2000 km.
The DCF signal also contains the exact time and the
date, among other things.
Naturally, this also eliminates the hassle of manually
setting summer and winter times.

•   After completing the search for the outdoor sensor, the weather station starts the search for

the DCF signal.  The icon for the DCF reception (1)

fl

ashes in the top left of the display.

•   Do not place the weather station next to electronic devices, metal parts, cables and so on.

Bad reception can also be expected with metallised insulating glass windows, reinforced
concrete constructions, coated special wallpaper or in cellar rooms.

•   The recognition and interpretation of the DCF signal can take 5-10 minutes. Do not move the

weather station during that time. Do not use any buttons.

When the weather station has read the DCF signal correctly, the current time of the day and

the date will be displayed at the top of the display and the DCF reception symbol (1) stops

fl

 ashing.

The synchronisation of the weather station with the DCF signal takes place several times a

day. Only one single successful reception attempt keeps the deviation of the internal clock
below one second.

•   If there still is no current time shown in the weather station’s display after 10 minutes, change

the location of the weather station.

Then start a new search for the DCF signal (press and hold the “SET” key for 3 seconds, see

section “Manual search for DCF signal”).

c) Setup and Installation

•   The outdoor sensor can be mounted on the wall through its rear opening (20) using a nail,

screw or hook. A small fold-out base (25) also allows the installation on a level surface.

The outdoor sensor is suitable for use in protected outdoor areas. It should be placed so

that it is not exposed to direct sunlight, since this can result in a false temperature reading.
Precipitation falling on the outdoor sensor will also lead to a false temperature reading, since
this cools the housing.

Therefore, we recommend you choose the installation place carefully, so the outdoor sensor

measures the correct temperature.

Never dip the outdoor sensor in or under water; this will destroy it!
•   The weather station can be mounted on the wall through its rear opening (16) using a nail,

screw or hook.

The base provided can be inserted at the bottom of the weather station so that the weather

station can be set up on an even, stable surface. Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using
a suitable mat to prevent scratches.

Manual search for DCF signal

•   Press and hold the “SET“ button (4) for 3 seconds until a tone signal can be heard. The icon

the weather station during that time. Do not use any buttons.

To speed up the search and detection, you can brie

When the 12h/24h mode or the time zone is adjusted, the DCF reception remains

enabled. However, when setting the time/date, the DCF reception will be switched
off. The icon for the DCF reception (1) disappears after exiting the setting mode.

If you do not press any button for several seconds, the setting mode is automatically
exited.

fl

 y until “24” or “12”
