c) Illuminants
• Caution!
The LED transformer is not suitable as a voltage/power supply for special
LEDs that need a ballast for constant current!
The LED transformer is solely intended to operate LED illuminants that require a
direct current voltage of 12V.
If necessary, consult the operating manual for the illuminants or the notes of the
illuminant manufacturer.
In case of doubt, consult a specialist.
• The maximum output power of the LED transformer must never be exceeded. Please
see section „Technical Data“ or the labels on the LED transformer.
When connecting the light bulbs, pay attention to their power input and determine
the overall power input before connecting them to the electronic transformer.
Installation and Connection
• The LED transformer can be mounted via two lateral openings.
Do not damage the LED transformer or the connection cable when mounting!
Pay attention when tightening the screws that no power, gas or water pipes can be
damaged! The same applies when drilling holes for dowels before mounting.
• Depending on the installation site, the LED transformer can be installed, for example, in the space
between wood panelling and ceiling (concrete). The LED transformer must not be embedded in
insulating material, since it could overheat; maintain a clearance of at least 20 cm around the LED
transformer.
The maximum ambient temperature permitted for the LED transformer is +40°C, you
should therefore keep sufficient clearance from other appliances or heating/
water pipes.
You should not install the LED transformer close to other electrical/electronic
devices; keep a clearance of at least 20cm.
• To connect the LED illuminant, a distribution amplifier is provided
offering in total 6 connectors (see figure to the right).
Ensure that the connection of the LED illuminants has the right polarity
(plus/+ and minus/-).
Attention!
No LED illuminants must be connected that require a ballast
for constant current!
Such LED illuminants will be destroyed when being connected
the the LED transformer!
The cable between the distribution amplifier and the LED illuminant must not be longer than
8m.
• Connect the mains plug of the LED transformer to a mains socket and check the functioning
of the connected LED illuminants.
Dimmer operation
The LED transformer with the connected LED illuminants cannot be operated via dimmer.
Handling
Observe all the safety and installation instructions in these operating instructions.
• The device must only be used in dry, closed indoor areas. The product must not get damp or
wet.
• Never look directly into the lit LEDs, this can lead to eye damage!
• Avoid the following unfavourable environmental conditions at the installation location and
during transportation:
- Damp or excess air humidity
- Direct sunlight
- Extreme cold or heat
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loudspeakers
• Ensure that the insulation for the entire product is neither damaged nor destroyed. Do not open
the housing of the LED transformer! There are no serviceable parts inside.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any
reason. Repair or maintenance work must be carried out by a specialist.
Before cleaning the product, disconnect it from the mains voltage and disconnect the power supply
from the mains socket. Let the product cool down completely.
Use a dry, soft, lint-free cloth is sufficient to clean the product. Do not use aggressive cleaning
agents as these can cause discolouration.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
