Intended Use
The personal protection adapter plug detects residual currents and it interrupts the power sup-
ply of a device connected to it when these residual currents occur (>10 mA).
The product is intended for use in dry, indoor locations.
All the safety and operating instructions in this manual must be followed carefully. These in-
structions not only protect the device but also, in particular, your health. Please read the entire
operating manual before using the product.
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All names of

Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequen-
tial damage!
We do not assume any liability for material or personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases,
the warranty will be null and void.

cation of this product is not
permitted for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product’s construction conforms to protection class I. Only a proper earthing
contact mains socket of the public power supply may be used as the power source.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. Therefore,
be especially careful when children are around. Children might try to put objects
through the openings of the power outlet, for example. There is a risk of a fatal
electric shock!
• The product may only be used in dry areas indoors.
• An apparently damaged device should not be connected to the personal protection
adapter plug.
• The personal protection adapter plug switches off the mains voltage for the con-
nected device (two-pole deactivation) if there is a residual current >10 mA. Never-
theless, injuries from electric shock cannot be ruled out under unfavourable circum-
stances!
Consult a doctor if necessary after suffering an electric shock!
• The use of a personal protection adapter plug represents only a basic safety
measure. Always ensure proper use of your electrical devices.
• Do not use the personal protection adapter plug anymore if the product casing is
damaged! Do not touch the personal protection adapter plug or the connected de-
vice, if it is still connected to the mains! First, switch off all the poles of the mains
socket to which the personal protection adapter plug is connected (turn off the circuit
breaker and the ground fault circuit breaker). You can then remove the personal pro-
tection adapter plug from the mains socket. Take the product to a specialist workshop
or dispose of it in an environment-friendly way.
• Never disconnect a mains plug that is inserted into the personal protection adapter
plug by pulling on the cable. Always pull the plug out of the socket by gripping the
area provided for this purpose on its sides.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
Getting Started
Check the tripping of the personal protection adapter plug before each start.
• Insert the personal protection adapter plug into a proper ground contact mains socket.
• Switch off the device that you want to connect to the socket of the personal protection adapter
plug.
• Open the
fl
ap of the personal protection adapter plug upwards, then connect the device with
the socket of the personal protection adapter plug.
• Press the “TEST” button of the personal protection adapter plug, it must trip with an audible
sound. The control light goes out.
• Press the “RESET” button of the personal protection adapter plug (a second time if the con-
trol light does not light up after the
fi
rst actuation); it is now ready for operation; the control
light must light up again.
• Start the device connected to the personal protection adapter plug.
Disconnect the device from the personal protection adapter plug and do not operate
it any more if the personal protection adapter plug trips on starting the device!
Then check the device for possible damages; take it to a specialist workshop in case
of doubt or get it examined by an electrician.
• To stop the device, switch it off and disconnect it from the personal protection adapter plug.
You can then pull out the personal protection adapter plug from the mains socket.
Maintenance and Care
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be opened or dismantled.
Before cleaning the device, pull the plug out of the mains socket. Clean the outer surface with a
dry, clean, soft cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions, since these
might damage the surface of the casing or impair the operation.
Disposal
Electronic and electronic devices must not be disposed of in the domestic waste.
Dispose of the product at the end of its serviceable life according to the relevant
legal provisions and regulations (e.g. return it to a special recycling facility of your
town).
