Intended use
This product is designed as a floating water fountain in a garden pond. By means of the
integrated solar panel, incident sunlight is converted into electrical energy and the internal pump
is supplied with power. Depending on the intensity of the sunlight, the pump creates a water
fountain with a height of ca. 60 cm.
The delivery includes several fountain adapters. Depending on the used fountain adapter,
different water fountains with differing height are created.
The solar island is suitable for use only in freshwater.
Do not operate the product in any other way than that described above. This could lead to
damage to the product, which may give rise to hazards such as short circuit, fire and electric
shock. The product must not be modified or converted. Always observe the safety instructions
included in these operating instructions. Please read the operating manual carefully and keep it
for later reference.

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any
consequential damage!

• The product must not be modified or converted, as not only the CE approval will
become void but also the warranty.
• Electronic devices are not toys and should be kept out of the reach of children!
• Please contact qualified personnel if you are unsure about the safety or the
correct use of the product.
• Never leave the packaging material lying around unattended. Plastic film/bags
etc. can be dangerous playthings for children, there is a risk of suffocation.
• Do not operate the product if it is damaged.
• The solar island is a self-contained system, do not connect it to other systems
such as irrigation systems, drinking water systems etc.
• Do not operate the solar island without water, as this can damage it. To prevent
this, the solar island may only be exposed to direct sunlight if it is standing in
water.
• If in doubt about how to connect the device correctly, or should any questions
arise that are not answered in these operating instructions, please contact our
technical advisory service or another specialist. Please consult a specialist if you
have any doubts regarding the use or safety of the product.

Start-up
The solar island is suitable for use only in freshwater. It may not be used in
corrosive, combustible, explosive or aggressive liquids or in salt water. The
solar island may only be used afloat. You must take it out of the water if
outside temperatures are less than 4°C, in order to prevent frost damage.
Please refer also to the storage instructions. Operate the solar island out of
the reach of children.

The solar island is supplied with power via the installed solar cells. This
means that the solar island only works if it is able to receive direct sunlight.
The capacity (height of water fountain) of the solar island is dependent on
solar radiation. Therefore, the solar island has to be located in the garden
pond so that it receives direct sunlight and the solar cells are not covered
or shaded (e.g. by plants). Under shade or cloud cover the solar island will
only function to a limited extent, or will not work at all.
Make sure that the solar island is installed in a garden pond with water that is
as clean as possible (rainwater, tap water or well water). Dirty water causes a
greater amount of wear and reduces the service life. Dirty water can cause
deposits (fouling) or block the impeller and/or filter.
The water must be at least 16cm deep to allow the solar island to work pro-
perly. Otherwise, the solar island cannot pump enough water or it will pump
dirt and/or sand from the bottom of the pond. This can damage the product.
The height of the water fountain varies depending on the intensity of the sun-
light received.
• Take the desired „fountain adapter“ (2) and attach it to the „nozzle“ (3).
• Place the solar island on the water surface of the garden pond with the „solar panel“ (1)
pointing upwards.
• Immerse the solar island briefly under the surface of the water to push water into the filter
housing and allow air to escape from the pump system. When doing this make sure that the
„nozzle“ (3) is always above the surface of the water.
You can limit the floating area of the solar island by fixing a line (such as fishing line) to the solar
island and to an anchoring point. This prevents the solar island from drifting off into the shady
area of the pond greenery. However, make sure that the fixing does not pull the solar island
under water.
