Keep these operating instructions and make sure you hand them over to all
subsequent users.
• Before using the device for the first time, please read these operating instructions
very carefully and follow the safety information. Make sure you hand over the device
to third parties together with the operating instructions.
• The device must be plugged into a properly installed earthed socket.
• Check the device for damage before use. Discontinue use of the device if it
shows signs of damage such as cracks, breaks or other visible damage! A damaged
device can cause electric shock, burns, and fire.
• Regularly check the mains plug and the connection cable for damage. Discon-
tinue use of the device if the mains plug shows signs of damage or abnormal dis-
colouration.
• The device is intended for private use only. The device is not intended for com-
mercial use.
• Always unplug the device when not in use. Pull the plug instead of the cord to
unplug the device from the mains socket. Before doing so, switch off the device.
• Never touch the device with wet or damp hands.
• Do not immerse the device in liquids. Electricity and water make a dangerous
combination that can cause fatal electric shock.
• Never put the device in the dishwasher.
• Do not operate the device when it is unattended. Always switch off the device
before leaving it unattended.
• Do not attempt to repair the device single-handedly; entrust the repair to an au-
thorised specialist.
• Do not expose the device to extreme heat and direct sunlight.
• Do not use the device outdoors.
• This device is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with redu-
ced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and/or lack of know-
ledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have
received instructions on how to use the device.
• The device must not be serviced or cleaned by children.
• The device must be positioned so that it is inaccessible to children.
• Do not leave any packaging materials (plastic bag, cardboard, styrofoam, etc.)
lying around carelessly within the reach of children.
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children!
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly, because it could be-
come a dangerous plaything for children.
• Do not let children play with foil. There is a choking hazard!
• Please observe the safety instructions at all times!
• For safety and licensing reasons, no unauthorised conversion and/or modifica-
tion of the product is allowed.
• Using this product for any purpose other than those described above may dama-
ge the product and result in a short circuit, fire or electric shock. The product must
not be modified or reassembled!

Special safety information
• Never fill the device above the MAX mark (depending on the mode - frothing or
heating up - see section “Operation”). Otherwise milk can splash out.
• The lid must always remain closed during use.
• When closing the lid, check that it is securely held.
• Never open the lid when the device is in operation.
• Do not operate the device when it is empty.
• The device must be used on a level work surface.
• Do not move the device during use.
• Do not touch it during use.
• Caution, the device gets hot during operation and can cause risk of burns.
• Only use the device with the base that it comes complete with.
• The base and the outside of the device must be protected from moisture and
dampness.
• Do not operate the device if the base has become wet.
• Switch off the device before removing it from the base.
• Never put your hand inside the device when it is energised or in operation.
• Allow the device to cool down before stowing it away or storing it in a cabinet.
• Do not place the device on sensitive surfaces. Liquids splashing out could da-
mage them.
• Always handle the device with hot milk inside with care to avoid severe injuries.
