Rule Type Description
Line Crossing Detection
Triggers when a target object is detected crossing a custom-drawn line;
can detect forward, reverse, or both directions.
Intrusion Detection
Triggers continually when a target object is detected entering and
remaining inside a custom-drawn area. Note: objects remaining inside
the area will continue to trigger Intrusion Detection alerts until they exit
the area.
Enter/Exit Area Detection Triggers once when a target object enters/exits a custom-drawn area.
Occupancy Detection
Triggers when an object count falls below and/or raises above a pre-
determined count; alternatively, can be set to alarm every multiple of a
configured count (e.g., every 5
th
object detected).
Loitering Detection
Triggers when a target object remains inside a custom-drawn area for a
configured time period.
Stopping Detection
Triggers when a target object enters and stops inside a custom-drawn
area for a configured time period.
3. Configure the information for the selected DL Trigger Preset, which varies with the selected
rule type. For Intrusion Detection, the fields include:
a. Video Source: Select a channel already registered in the DL Sources menu.
b. Name: Enter a custom title for the DL Trigger.
c. Target Object: Select the type of object that should be detected (e.g., human, car, etc.).
d. Ignore Duplicate Event: Select to only trigger once per selected Ignore Duplicate Event
Interval.
e. Ignore Duplicate Event Interval: Configure time period that must elapse before detecting
the next object. Note: setting this interval means only one event will detect during the
interval regardless of the number of actual objects present.
f. Intrusion Label: Select a custom title for the on-screen widget counter.
g. Count Reset: Manually reset the counter or set a value at which the counter will reset.
h. Ignore Static Object: Select to make the DL PLUS unit less likely to detect objects that
are stationary in the field of view. This is useful to prevent continuous alarms and false
alarms.
i. Import Zone Information: Select a zone from another DL Trigger that has already been
created.
j. Preview: Draw, edit, and move DL Trigger areas as well as the on-screen counter widget.

When finished, select <APPLY> to save.
