12. Avoid skin contact with moving blades.
13. When using the appliance with its cord, be
mindful of tangles or kinks in the cord. If the
cord does become tangled during use, turn the
unit off and straighten cord before operating
again.
14. Do not short the polarity (output cord), ensure
jack is plugged into the unit before plugged the
adapter into outlet.
15. This power unit is intended to be correctly
oriented in vertical floor mount position.
16. Be sure voltage is in correct voltage before
plugging in.
17. For connection to a supply not in the U.S.A.,
use an attachment plug adapter of the proper
configuration for the power outlet.

If your cord/cordless, rechargeable trimmer does
not seem to be taking a charge, take the following
troubleshooting steps before returning it for repair:
1. Be sure the electrical outlet is working by plugging in
another appliance to test it.
2. Make sure the electrical plug is not connected to a
switch which turns power off when lights are turned
off.
3. Be sure you have inserted the trimmer properly into
the charging stand, that all connections are secure,
and that the trimmer switch is in the “OFF” position.

1. Before using your trimmer for the first time, insert the
cord into the trimmer through the hole in base, then
place trimmer in base and charge it for 16 hours.
Always place the trimmer in the stand with the ON/
OFF switch in the OFF position.
2. Always check to see if the charging light is on when
the cord is connected to the trimmer and the unit is
not in use.
3. Plug the adaptor into any wall outlet (at the voltage
listed on the label affixed to the adapter). Unplug the
adaptor when not in use.
4. The adapter may become warm while charging —
this is normal.
5. The battery life can be improved by periodically
allowing the trimmer to run until the motor stops.
Immediately shut the switch OFF and fully recharge.
6. This power unit is intended to be correctly orientated
in a vertical or floor mount position.

takIng care of your trImmer
oIlIng tHe bladeS
About once a month you should oil the trimmer
blades with the oil provided in your kit. It is best to
do this over a piece of newspaper. Turn the trimmer
on and hold it so that the blades are pointed down-
ward. Spread one drop of oil across the blades, then
turn the trimmer off and wipe away the excess oil
with a soft cloth.
Be careful not to use too much oil and don’t oil
your trimmer more than necessary, as that could
damage the motor. (Never attempt to oil the motor
bearing, as it is permanently lubricated.) After oiling
the blades, return the trimmer and oil packet to the
trimmer storage base. Keep oil away from children.
blade care
Because the trimmer blades are precision-made for a
very special use, they should always be handled with
care. Each time you finish using the trimmer, take the
cleaning brush provided and brush away any loose
hair that has collected in the blades. Then store the
trimmer in its recharging storage base to protect the
blades until the next use.
Be especially careful when changing or adjusting
blades. When you have your trimmer serviced, be sure
that both blades are sharpened or replaced at the
same time.
To promote the long life of the appliance, use your
trimmer only for the purpose intended by the manu-
facturer—to trim your beard and mustache.
turbo feature
This product is equipped with a turbo boost button.
When activated, this feature will provide 15% more cut-
ting power. This is especially useful for cutting through
thicker hair.
To activate the turbo feature:
1. Turn the Power switch to the “on” position
2. Press the Turbo button
3. Continue to press the Turbo button for as long as you
need the extra power
4. Release the Turbo button to return to normal power

To remove blade set from your trimmer, make sure
the trimmer is in the OFF position. Remove the blade
set by placing thumb against the smaller cutter
and pushing forward, releasing the cutter assembly
from the trimmer housing. Replace with new cutting
system and reverse the removal procedure, only this
time place your thumb on the
large cutter and snap into place.

to the longest #1 position. Note:

be held in place when removing/
replacing the blade.
growIng a beard and muStacHe
There are three key factors that will determine which
beard or mustache style is best for you:
1. The shape and dimensions of your face.
2. The natural growth of your beard/mustache.
3. The thickness of your beard/mustache.
If you are unsure of the type of beard or mus-
tache that would most suit your face, speak with
a professional hair stylist and ask for an opinion
on what style would be best. Once your beard or
mustache has been styled, it is essential that you
maintain its appearance. To do this, use your trimmer to
trim your beard/mustache weekly.
For the best trimming results, your beard should be
slightly damp (NOT WET) when using your trimmer.
This will prevent the trimmer from removing more hair
than desired.

1. It is always best to begin
with a clean, slightly damp
beard.
2. After you have combed through your beard in the
direction it grows naturally, you will want to outline
the desired shape, beginning under your jawline.
3. Begin defining your beard’s shape under your chin
and work upward on each side of your face toward
your ears. Then define the upper outline of your beard
across your cheeks, past your sideburns and toward
your hairline.

adJuStable 3 poSItIon taper control
Just like levers on professional clippers, the Conair taper
control is positioned at the back of the unit, so you can
hold the trimmer in your hand and adjust the lever at the
same time...while you’re clipping/trimming. This taper
control eliminates the need in some situations for an
attachment comb, because it lets you gradually adjust
the closeness of the trim. For the closest cut and the
shortest hair, push taper control up as far as it will go to
level #3. To increase cutting length, slowly push control
down.
Because a different cutting edge is used in each setting,
the taper lever lengthens the life of your blades. Packed-
in hair can slow down any clipper. To remove it without
removing the blades, take your cleaning brush and
brush the hair from the blades. If you do this after every
clipping, especially with heavy hair cutting, the blades
should remain free of cut hair. If clipper stops cutting
and this action doesn’t help, try loosening the blades to
remove the hair.
Any other servicing should be performed by an autho-
rized service representative. The appliance has no user
serviceable parts. The product is for household use.
(see note).
If clipper stops cutting, check to see if there is a clump
of hair lodged between the blades. If that is the problem,
unplug the clipper and then loosen the blades to remove
the hair. If the clipper stops cutting but does not stop
running, you will need to check the blades. For new
blades, send cheque or money order for $8.00 which
includes postage and handling to:

Never pull on the clipper cord. Never twist or wrap the
cord around the clipper. To store your clipper, lay it fl at

ou si des dents sont cassées car on risque de
se blesser . Avant de l’utiliser , s’assurer que les
lames sont bien alignées. Voir « Entretien de la
tondeuse ».
9. Ne pas l’utiliser à l’extérieur ni là où l’on utilise
des aérosols ou administre de l’oxygène.
10. Ne jamais utiliser l’appareil si les évents sont
obstrués ou sur une surface souple comme un
lit ou un divan où les évents pourraient devenir
obstrués. Garder les évents libres de charpies,
cheveux, etc.
11. Brancher le cordon à l’a ppareil puis à la prise.
Pour le débrancher , éteindre l’appareil puis
sortir la fiche de la prise de courant.
12. Éviter de toucher la peau avec les lames en
marche.
13. Lors de l’utilisa tion, ne pas tordre ni pincer
le cordon. Si le cordon s’emmêle, éteindre
l’appareil et détordre le cordon avant de
continuer l’utilisa tion.
14. Ne pas court-circuiter (fil électrique). S’assurer
que la fiche est branchée dans l’unité a vant
de brancher l’adapta teur dans la prise de
courant.

16. S’assurer que la tension de secteur convient

ce que le moteur s’arrête. Éteignez immédiatement la
tondeuse et rechargez-la à bloc.
6. Ce bloc d'alimenta tion doit être bien orienté, en posi-

Comme chaque réglage fait a ppel à un tranchant
différent, le levier prolonge la durée utile des lames.
L’embourbement de poils peut ralentir la tondeuse. Pour
les netto yer sans démonter la lame. passez la brosse de
net toy age su r le s la mes . E n fa isa nt a ins i a prè s c haq ue

resteront libres de poils.

Si la tondeuse s’arrête et que cette mesure n’aide pas,
essayer de desserrer les lames pour enlever les cheveux.
Si la tondeuse fonctionne toujours mais sans couper ,
vérifi ez les lames. P our obtenir des lames neuves, faites
parvenir un chèque ou manda t-poste de 8,00 $, qui
couvrent les frais de poste et administratifs, à :

REMARQUE :
Ne tirez jamais le fil de la tondeuse. Ne tordez ni n’enroulez
le fil autour de la tondeuse. Pour le rangement, placez-la à
plat, le fil enroulé, puis insérez-la dans le cylindre.
