4.4.5 MER 

MAC Encapsulation Routing (MER) enables the ATU-R to route IP addresses on the 
RFC1483 bridged link.  NAPT function is supported to allow multiple private IP 

addresses on the LAN to share a public IP address. 

 
 
To set up the MER service

, configure the common fields, and then enter the IP 

Address and Subnet Mask under the MER section of the screen.  Click the Add button 
to add the entry. 

 

 

To modify an entry

, complete the following steps:  

STEP 1:

 Select the entry from the 

Current ATM PVC List, 

at the bottom of the 

WAN Setup page. The current values of the selected entry will display in the 
upper section of the page. 

STEP 2:

 Change the parameters.  

STEP 3:

 Click 

Modify
