Turning Off Power to a PC Card
When a PC Card is inserted in the computer, the PC Card draws
power from the system even when it is not in use. To conserve
power, stop any PC Cards that are not in use:
■
Windows 98
—Select the PC Card icon in the taskbar, then
select the PC Card(s) you want to stop.
■
Windows 2000 Professional
—Select the Unplug or Eject
icon in the taskbar, then select the PC Card(s) you want
to stop.
■
Windows NT 4.0
—Remove PC Cards that are not in use.
