General Information

This appendix provides general system specifications and cabling
requirements for the Fast EtherWORKS/PMC Adapter module.

Physical Description

The PMC Adapter module is a PMC that uses the 32-bit PCI
bus connector. The module measures 149 mm by 74 mm, and is
constructed using four-layer circuit board technology with two signal
layers and two power/ground layers.

Functional Components

The PMC Adapter module consists of the following components:

•

Single low-profile RJ-45 connector that operates at either 10 Mb/s
or 100 Mb/s

•

DECchip 21140

•

Three LEDs that indicate speed, transmit and receive network
activity, and link status

•

Cable that connects the RJ-45 connector to the appropriate
Ethernet connector.
