Processor Assembly
To remove a processor assembly:
1. Power down the server blade and remove it from the server blade enclosure. Refer to the
“Server Blade Preparation” section in this chapter.
2. Remove the access panel. Refer to the “Access Panel” section in this chapter.
CAUTION:
Always disengage the heatsink clip
before
raising the processor ejector lever to
avoid damaging the pins.
3. Disengage the retaining clip (1). Be sure that the clip unfastens from both sides of the
processor socket.
4. Lift the ejecting lever (2).
5. Remove the processor assembly (3).

CAUTION:
Do not disassemble the processor assembly. Separating the parts damages
them.
IMPORTANT:
Align the pins with the socket before seating the processor assembly. The assembly is
keyed to fit only one way.
Reverse steps 1 through 5 to replace the processor assembly.
