INSTALLATION
1. Before installing the DSA control box, the speakers should be installed first. Determine
the best location for the sound to be heard by everyone. All the wires should be hidden
from view and protected from the weather by conduit. Have the two (2) speaker wires
coming from the speakers to the DSA, also have the low voltage power run to the same
location along with the speaker cables. NOTE: route the low voltage power cable and
speaker cable to a central location where the DSA will be mounted. It is recommended
to use the
DSA-Mount
.
2. Remove the four (4) screws on the front control panel to gain access to the inside of the
enclosure. Unplug the cat5e connector from the front control panel cat5e coupler. This
coupler connects the MP3 player track triggers to the control buttons via a cat5e cable. If
installing a DSA-4M system, unplug the XLR microphone connector
(orange wire)
on
the rear of the small preamplifier (Rolls PA71). Carefully place the control panel in a
safe place for now.
3. Remove the two (2) top nuts and the two (2) lower nuts holding the entire (white) power
amplifier assembly onto the clear plexiglass mounting plate, once removed, set aside.
Remove the six (6) Phillips screws at the top, middle, & bottom holding the mounting
plate to the enclosure. Once the mounting plate is removed, make sure the amplifier
mounting screws holding the amplifier to the mounting plate are tight on the plate, this
will come loose when removing the amplifier assembly. Tighten screws to properly hold
the amplifier in place before installing the mounting plate..
4. Mount the empty enclosure securely to a pole, a frame or whatever you are mounting the
DSA enclosure to using the enclosed fender washers. If using the
DSA-Mount
, please
follow the instructions included with the mount. Before installing the plexiglass mounting
plate, make sure the amplifier mounting screws are tight before installing the amplifier.
Route power cable & speaker wires through the wire plug on the bottom of the
enclosure.
5. After mounting the enclosure, leave the power and speaker cables hanging for now.
Install the amplifier mounting plate with the six (6) screws.
6. Install the amplifier assembly on the four (4) threaded screws. Install the nuts on each
screw making sure they are secured.
7. Route the two speaker cables and screw them to the terminals at the bottom of the
amplifier on the left. The terminals, looking from the top down are: (+) (-), (-) (+).
Do Not Connect More Than TWO (2) 8-ohm speakers per set of speaker terminals.
8. Route the low voltage 12vdc power cable from the power transformer to the two wires
that are marked power
12VDC +
and
12VDC -
Use the included blue wire nuts to
connect the wires.
PLEASE BE SURE THE POWER TRANSFOMER WIRES THAT
ARE MARKED WITH A WHITE STRIP ARE CONNECTED TO THE (+) RED WIRE &
THE BLACK WIRE IS CONNECTED TO THE SOLID BLACK WIRE.
9. Before applying power, make sure all plug-in power connectors on the Rolls PA-71 & the
MP3 player are plugged in securely before applying power.
