Overview
The interface adapter IA250 is designed
to connect USB communication ports
and half-duplex networks of RS485
devices or devices (transmitters)
with RS232 interface. The two
IA250 interfaces are optically isolated.

Operating
Driver installation

Connect the adapter
to USB PC port
via cable K8 or an analogue.
♦
Wait for a prompting
to install a driver
to appear on the PC screen.
♦
Following the instructions
on the screen,
install the driver either
from the CD provided
or downloaded
from www.ftdichip.com.
Operating with transmitters
♦
Connect the adapter
with the transmitter
through the proper cable
(K1U or K2U).
♦
Run "TraCon" v2.0 or higher
and follow its instructions.
Operating in RS485 network
♦
Connect IA250 to the network
using an appropriate cable,
bearing in mind
the locations of the signals
on the RJ25 connector
pin-outs.
♦
To build the network,
adhere to the sample structure
shown on the left.
♦
Run "PolyMonitor" program
and follow its instructions.
At the start of transmission
to RS485 network,
the IA250 adapter
automatically switches
to transmission mode.
