Instructions for use
Before initial use
1. Remove all packaging.
2. Wipe the housing clean with a damp cloth. Dry the housing with a dry cloth.
3. Make sure that the crumb tray (1) is pushed all the way in.
4. Plug the toaster into an earthed wall socket (230 V AC).
5. Since the toaster can give off a slight odour and smoke when it is new, any
residual surface coatings from the manufacturing process should be burnt
off before the toaster is used. This is done in the following way: Ensure that
the product is in a well-ventilated place. Set the function selector (4) to the top
position (toast) and depress the carriage lever (3)
without bread
until the carriage
locks in place. Operate the toaster until the carriage lever is released and returns to
its normal position. Repeat this process a couple more times.
Toasting
1. Plug the mains lead into an earthed wall socket.
2. Insert bread into the toasting slots (2).
3. Select the desired browning level using the control (5). Experiment until you find
the setting most to your liking.
4. To start toasting, depress the lever until it locks. The lever will only lock into place if
the toaster is connected to a wall socket.
5. The toaster automatically turns itself off when the toast is ready, and the slices pop
up. The toasting process can be interrupted at any time by setting the function
selector to
Cancel
.
6. Make sure that the carriage lever is in the up position before unplugging
the toaster.
Defrosting
Follow steps 1–4 above as for toasting and then set the function selector (4) to
Defrost
.
The toaster turns off automatically when the bread has defrosted.
Reheating
Previously toasted bread can be reheated by following steps 1–4 under toasting above
and then setting the function selector to
Reheat
. The toast will then be warmed for
a short while before the toaster automatically shuts off. Keep an eye on the bread
while toasting to ensure that it does not burn.
